Leeds Festival - Announcement

Leeds Festival - More Acts To Be Confirmed

Today it was confirmed that more acts will be announced for Reading and Leeds on 2nd February.

This can go two ways (for me) - brilliantly because a band/bands are announced that I love, or horribly in the sense that once again only one act I like is confirmed.

After the first announcement I was left feeling a bit gutted, yet I still bought my ticket for the festival as it will be incredible regardless of acts.

So who could be the next act announced?

There has been a lot of speculation recently about the Libertines and scrolling through Twitter it seems that people are convinced it will be them. However, I don't want to get my hopes up and left feeling bitter.

It will be difficult for Reading & Leeds to get a better line up than Isle of Wight Festival (Fleetwood Mac, Black Keys, the Prodigy), but I'm sure organisers won't let us down!

I have a feeling (hardly concrete evidence) that the Prodigy will be announced on February 2nd, where they will play is a different matter.

The Prodigy have a new album coming out and also a headline UK tour so it is very possible.

Could they headline the main stage? Maybe. However, I'd say it would be more likely they headline the NME/Radio 1 tent, sort of like a follow up to Disclosure's 2014 headline set at that stage.

My thoughts on bands that will be announced both 2nd February as well as the final announcement:

Main Stage:

The Libertines
The Strokes
Kaiser Chiefs
Mumford and Sons
Florence and the Machine
Fall Out Boy
Black Keys

NME/Radio 1 Stage:

Foals
Tame Impala
The Prodigy
Noel Gallagher's High Flying Birds
Palma Violets
Catfish and the Bottlemen
Vaccines
Peace
Mac Demarco
The Wombats

Maybe these bands are too much to ask for, but I think that there is a fair chance that many could play at the festival.
